TRISKELE WHEEL OF THE YEAR - SOUTHERN HEMISPHERE
The Wheel of the Year is an ancient, cyclical calendar that honours the natural rhythm of the seasons through the solar year. It follows the Sun’s great turning points, the solstices and equinoxes and the sacred festivals that fall between them.
Rather than marking time as a straight line with a fixed beginning and end, the Wheel reflects a living, circular flow. It encourages a way of life lived in harmony with Mother Nature, reminding us that all things move through cycles of birth, growth, rest, and renewal.
The Wheel is divided into eight segments, each lasting approximately six weeks and celebrated by a Sabbat or holy day. These festivals align with the movements of the Sun and stars, marking the passage of time while honouring the changing seasons and the spiritual practices of our ancestors. Drawing from ancient pan-European traditions, the Wheel of the Year weaves together influences from Celtic, Norse, and Egyptian lore.
At the centre of the Wheel sits the Triskele, an ancient sacred symbol of motion, balance, and continuity. Its three spirals represent the ever-turning cycles of land, sea, and sky; mind, body, and spirit; and birth, life, and renewal. The Triskele serves as a reminder that energy is always moving, evolving, and returning, just as the seasons themselves.
Each Triskele Wheel of the Year board is exclusively custom made by us. Every piece is precision laser cut and engraved, then lovingly finished by hand, making each board truly unique.
